The 17th Meeting of European Communist Youth Organisations (MECYO), hosted in Cyprus by EDON, starts tomorrow, 15 December 2023.
The 17th MECYO will take place on 15-17 December, under the slogan "Youth united, organised and militant, in the front line of the struggle! Against imperialist wars and oppression, against capitalist exploitation. For the Europe of the workers, for socialism!".
The MECYOs are annual meetings aimed at strengthening the relationship between communist youth organisations at European level, through the exchange of views and the various debates that take place within the framework of the meetings.
The hosting of the 17th MECYO in Cyprus, is also a first-class opportunity for EDON to further highlight and internationalize the Cyprus problem and to inform international delegations about the current negative situation in the Cyprus problem. Through the programme prepared for the dozens of delegates from European countries, the importance of internationalist solidarity in the face of 50 years of occupation will be highlighted, as well as the importance of a solution and reunification of our island and our people.
For EDON, the hosting of the 17th MECYO is an honour, since it is the result of the trust that we receive at international level from dozens of Organisations who fight against imperialism and capitalist exploitation. Who fight side by side with EDON for the world of peace, solidarity and social justice, for the world of socialism!
