Lenin was born on April 22 1870, in the town of Simbirsk (Ulyanovsk) located on the river Volga. The name of this great rebel is connected to the most momentous event of the 20th century, the Great October Socialist Revolution which opened the path for a society with real freedom without human exploitation.
The revolutionary work of Lenin, fairly took place in the history of the world labor movement along with the work of Marx – Engels. Lenin contributed to the theoretical and practical development of Marxism. The Great Russian revolutionary, gave tough fight for the ideological victory of Marxism against various opportunist and laid the foundations for the construction of socialism.
By processing the tactics and strategy of the labor movement in the age of imperialism, the theory of the Party of the new type, with the principles of socialist revolution and the work of constructing socialism, Lenin left a rich legacy to the working class and its allies for the transition from capitalism to socialism.
The exile and imprisonment never prevented nor stopped the impetuous action of Lenin who continued to seal the history of Russian and world labor movement and shoe the path for the future.
145 years since his birth and 91 years after his death (21/01/1924), the work of Lenin is still alive and guides us to the struggle for social justice, freedom and socialism.
